Demonstraction making sailing ship in a glass bottle

Ever wanted to know how a complete sailing ship ends up in a glass bottle? Then come to the atrium of the Schathuys in the Zuiderzee Museum! There, bottle ship builders will give live demonstrations of their special craftsmanship.

Half-timbered

Building a ship in a bottle takes a lot of time. Some builders even take more than a year to complete one. During this demonstration, discover the different steps of the building process, such as the method by which the ship is brought inside the narrow neck of the bottle.
