A musical journey through Faith, Hope and Love with Camerata Liocorno!

Zwaag, March 1, 2025 – On Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2025, Vocal Ensemble Camerata Liocorno invites you to an unforgettable concert in the beautiful Reformed Church at Kerkelaan 1 in Zwaag. Under the direction of our new, enthusiastic conductor Ruud Hoogenboom, this afternoon promises to be a special musical experience!

Camerata Liocorno is known for its a capella performances of Renaissance pieces and works inspired by them from other periods. The upcoming concert offers a varied program with both secular and religious music. You can enjoy the complete Missa Secunda by Hans Leo Hassler. In addition, pieces by Purcell, Sweelinck, da Vittoria and Sibelius will be sung, which makes for a rich variety of musical styles.

The theme of the concert – faith, hope, love – is clearly expressed in the choice of music. The spiritual songs that are performed reflect faith and hope, while the secular compositions sing of the unmistakable power of love and the longing for the beloved. All this makes for a rich variety.

A special addition to the concert is the participation of the recorder ensemble Soethout, consisting of five passionate musicians who play a range of recorders, from small flutes to the impressive sub-bass of two meters! Their contribution will not only consist of instrumental intermezzi, but they will also accompany several sung works. Their sounds will beautifully complement the performances of Camerata Liocorno.

The doors of the church open at 15:00, so you can enter on time and choose a seat. The concert starts at 15:30. After the concert, the choir invites you for a drink.
