In an audiovisual show with dozens of moving steam models you can see how the application of steam technology in our country really took off from the second half of the 19th century and how the steam engine began its advance.

The Dutch Steam Engine Museum, located in the former steam pumping station Vier Noorder Koggen, will open its doors to the public again on Saturday 15 February at the start of the spring break. During the winter break, hard work was done to prepare the machines for the new steam season. The museum houses one of the largest collections of still working steam engines in the Netherlands and tells two special stories: the battle of the West Frisians against the water and the discovery of the steam engine that changed the world.
