This year the Zuiderzee Museum is all about water. While clean drinking water always flows from the tap, things used to be different for residents around the Zuiderzee. Clean water was scarce and therefore people used it sparingly. What can we learn from them about carefully handling our own drinking water?
From ๐ญ๐ณ ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ you can discover the indoor museum in the ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ช๐ฎ Learn more about water use then and now. View the historical objects and contemporary counterparts: from wash basin and toilet bowl to recycled shower and water-saving toilet. Go through the dilemmas in the choice maze and take a selfie in the life-size 1.5 meter water pipe! The outdoor museum will open from March 29 and you can follow an audio series along historic water locations and listen to stories about the village well and the folding flume. Along the way you will find the water lab, where children can do experiments, and four water works of art: for example, step under the Water Gate or climb the special lookout tower.
