Westfriese Omringdijk
The Westfriese Omringdijk is a 126 km long dike, created by the connection of various short dikes in the West Friesland region. The Omringdijk passes through the cities of Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Alkmaar, Schagen, Medemblik, and again Enkhuizen. The different sections of the dike have been designated as provincial monuments by the province of North Holland. The Westfriese Omringdijk surrounds the historic region of West Friesland.

The Westfriese Omringdijk regional trail is divided into 8 day hikes and is marked in both directions with yellow-red markings.
