Klassiek op Zondag – Finalisten Prinses Christina Concours 2024

Sunday 17 November 2024, 11:00 – 12:45 uur

It has become a tradition: every season we make a selection of winners and finalists of the Princess Christina Competition. Many of the current big names in the Dutch (classical) music world were once participants, finalists or even winners of this competition.

The Princess Christina Competition stimulates children and young people in their musical development. With competitions for classical, jazz and composition, a mobile concert hall (the Classic Express) and an online music competition (De Muziekwedstijd), the Princess Christina Competition is a leading platform for music education and talent development.

Meet the trio Tableaux: Elin Haver on viola, Gijs Linn on clarinet and Thijs Willers on piano. Elin Haver is 21 and was captivated by the sound of the viola at the age of twelve. In 2020, she won first prize in the regional final of the competition and the Audience Award in the National Final. Gijs Linn, also 21, started playing the clarinet when he was nine and sang in the National Boys’ Choir, with which he performed with the Concertgebouw Orchestra. He has won several prizes at both the Princess Christina Competition and the Tristan Keuris Chamber Music Competition.

Thijs Willers is the youngest of the trio at 18 years old. He has been taking piano lessons since he was six. This year he won first prize at the Princess Christina Competition. The jury commented: “My, my Thijs, you have overwhelmed us again with your impressive Prokofiev sonata. So much character, so much effect, so much atmosphere, fantastic! A tribute to the composer!” He was also seen in the TV programme Podium Klassiek.

Ticket prices include an interval drink. If the show has no interval, the drink will be ready for you afterwards. Prices exclude €2.50 transaction costs per order.

This concert is made possible by WFO Network Notaries.
