Enkhuizer Vlootdag – een dag vol schepen, verhalen en avontuur

During Enkhuizen Fleet Day, various charter companies open their vessels to the public, and everyone is invited to come and take a look on board. Come stroll along the quays, hop aboard, participate in workshops, meet the skippers and crew, and discover what life and work on the water is like.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 18th, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the north side of Enkhuizen’s Buitenhaven , right next to the “Enkhuizer Friethuys” snack bar and the tourist office. A clear map will be available on the day itself, showing you the way past all the boats and activities.

Program

Harbor cruises

Climb aboard for a free short cruise of approximately 30-45 minutes, passing the Gependam and the Zuiderzee Museum. With sufficient wind, a sail may be raised, allowing you to not only see Enkhuizen but truly experience it from the water.

Lectures, workshops & information stands

There is plenty to discover on board various ships:

1. Inspirational lectures and stories (times and location to follow)
2. Workshops , such as a knotting workshop and climbing in the mittens
3. Information stands from maritime organisations and initiatives

Each ship has its own atmosphere and story, so there is something to experience for young and old.

Children’s activities – fun for the whole family

Fleet Day is a real family day . There are plenty of activities for children:

1. Games on the outdoor square
2. A bouncy castle
3. Creative and sporting activities on board, such as crafts, face painting and treasure hunts

While the children are having fun, parents can look around and enjoy the ships and the harbour.

Food & Drink

There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments on and around the grounds. Food and drinks are sold on board some ships, and nearby you’ll find a snack bar, a fishmonger, and the Rijksmagazijn restaurant. The Schuttevaer will serve as a welcoming café during Fleet Day.
